First and foremost, I am a makeup lover and beauty product junkie. You should really see the amount of makeup I’ve accumulated in my room… if anyone asks, it’s a sickness - the best and most expensive kind.

On my other social platforms I am always talking about makeup products that I love and I show you how to use them, but I don’t have a space where I talk specifically about my favourite products of the month. Hence my decision to create this favourites series – get ready to find out about my favourite makeup products of April!

The weather seems to finally be picking up in the UK. When the sun starts to appear, I always get over excited and want to jump straight into glowy skin looks to capture during the Golden Hour sunshine – I can’t be the only one! I have extremely oily skin so it can be a challenge to find a dewy/hydrating foundation that truly lasts on me.

Since trying the Fenty Beauty Hydrating foundation I haven’t looked back!! Don’t get me wrong the Armani Luminous Silk is still one of my all-time faves, but the Fenty one has a lot more coverage and just leaves the most beautiful flawless and dewy finish. I am OBSESSED. I do set with a little powder but the luminosity still shines through once I add some setting spray. If you’re in the market for a hydrating foundation I highly recommend this one!

For some reason I have been a real blush girl the past month! I always loved the way that Kylie Jenner wears her blush high on the cheeks and swept all the way back to connect with her bronzer, it gives such a youthful glow and that’s how I’ve been wearing mine. The only issue I’ve had is that my powder blush just doesn’t last throughout the day… or when you first put it on you need to cake it on just to make it last.

Well I’ve found a product to solve that problem for good! The Colour Veil Gel Blushers from Illamasqua are incredible as a base for your powder blush – or alone if you don’t like to use powder. My favourite shade at the moment is “Enamour”, it’s such a gorgeous and bright peachy shade, perfect for a light springtime or summertime makeup look. Once blended this gel blush does not budge, I’ve even tested it on a super warm day and your girl is OILY but guess what? It stayed all day long!! Incredible.

Pastels seems to be THE makeup trend at the moment and I am here for it, they’re such pretty springtime colours and I love to pair them with a nude lip. Pastel eyeshadows are actually very challenging to make, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve found a beautiful pastel palette and been disappointed that the pigment of the shadows doesn’t show up on the lids.

Next minute, the Huda Beauty Pastel Obsessions Palettes launch and BOOM they’ve changed the game! I love to use the Melted Shadows they have as a base to really bring out the colours in the palettes but to be honest you don’t even need them, just pop on some concealer on the lid as your base and you’re good to go. I picked up the Lilac and Mint Pastels palettes and I can’t even decide which is my favourite… if I had to choose, I’d say the lilac one because I’m obsessed with all things purple.

There’s a mix of matte and shimmer shadows so you can create different looks, plus they have a totally new shimmer shadow formula that looks like a tie-dye shade in the pan. Once you pop it on the lid it gives the most beautiful glittery sheen, it pairs really well with the other shimmer shades. If you’re in the market for a new palette and you’re loving the pastel trend as much as me I recommend trying one of these out.

Now I’ve tried a lot of loose powders, I have extremely oily skin so baking has been my saviour over the years. For a long while I was using the Fenty Beauty Profilt’r Setting Powder and don’t get me wrong I still love that one – but once I tried the Beauty Bakerie Flour Setting Powder I cannot put it down!

First off, the Beauty Bakerie packaging is so cute and I just can’t resist beautiful packaging. But obviously that’s irrelevant if the product doesn’t live up to it… well the Flour setting powder exceeded all my expectations. It’s such a smooth, fine powder that gives a perfectly flawless finish whether you apply with a brush or with a beauty blender. It’s not super heavy but you can build it up and brighten if you bake (use excess powder and let it sit), so it’s perfect for everyone. I use it for minimal makeup days and full glam it’s so versatile. I have the shade Oat (translucent) and it’s perfect, there’s no white cast and it blends nicely with my skin tone – they have a number of shades so there is one for everyone (another reason I love it so much!)

I’ve always wondered if primers are truly worth it, do they really work well enough to justify spending hard earned money on them? Well I’ve tried my fair share and I can confirm that the Farsali Skintune Blur Primer is 100% worth it for those with similar skin issues to me.

My skin type is oily/combination skin, and unfortunately what comes with that is uneven texture, large pores and breakouts… not a whole lot of fun. There are countless so-called “pore filling” primers out there that claim to give you a flawless complexion, but a lot of them feel like silicone and they clog the pores leading to even more breakouts. I don’t know how they’ve done it but Farsali have created an incredible lightweight primer that really does smooth the skin and minimise the appearance of your pores. It’s makeup witchcraft and I’m LOVING it!

Generally, when it comes to concealer, I only use it to brighten and highlight and rely on foundation for coverage. However, during this quarantine my skin has really been breaking out! Has this been happening to anyone else?! Most of the time I’m at home I haven’t been wearing much makeup but when creating content for my social media I found it super tricky to cover up my blemishes with foundation alone – too much foundation can get real cakey real quick.

This is when I found the new love of my life - the Nars Soft Matte Complete Concealer! I’m pretty sure I bought this as a recommendation after watching a makeup tutorial but for the life of me can’t remember which one. But to be honest I just never reached for it… until now. The breakouts are real you guys, and this is THE ONLY concealer that completely covers them and doesn’t move once you put foundation on top. I put quite a bit of this concealer over the blemish to cover, and immediately just blend the foundation over top with light tapping motions and then the blemish totally disappears like magic! You need this concealer in your life!!

I hope you enjoyed finding out favourites for this month and give them a go yourself. Let me know in the comments below what products you’re loving so I can try them out. Hope you have a great week.

Lots of love
